Pick your thoughts like you pick your apples

It’s been nice to see a few days of spring like weather lately.  Unfortunately today is not one of them; but that is no reason to think bad thoughts about it.  Like with life in general, there is always good to come from all situations.  Just because the sun is not shining today does not mean that the potential for it being a great day is any less – it will just be a great day in a different way.  Our attitude towards events, people and ourselves denotes how we experience these things, so we may as well enjoy all experiences and find the positive and good in everything.  No one wants to feel crappy (even on those days when to wallow is tolerable) so it is important to look for the good in all things.  By looking for the positives you point your focus in that direction and begin to feel better almost immediately.  You begin to change perspectives from negative to positive and this lets the order of things know that this is the way you live, the way things should be around you.

What you focus on expands

So it actually becomes counter productive to think and focus on negative things, or anything for that matter, that is not in keeping with where you want to go in your life or how you want to feel.

When you go food shopping do you pick out the apples that look the worst?  No, you go for the lovely fresh, crisp ones that look like they will do you the most good.  In other words you go for the ones that will affect you in the most positive way!  So likewise with other areas of your life always make sure you look for the best of it, the bits of it that will enhance your life the most.  Don’t choose the bits that aren’t going to give you any benefit, or bring you any pleasure.  Life is meant to be joyful so choose to only look at the parts of any situation that will bring you joy.  If the day is rainy then see how lovely a walk in the rain could be, how beautiful a fire would be to sit beside or how wonderful it is that you are working indoors!

Pick the best out of a situation like you would pick

your apples

Enjoy
