Christmas carol or connection to previous generation?
Christmas connects us with previous generations; not only familial ones but each collective generation within the world. We may not have met our distant forebears but we know they would have more than likely sung some of the same carols we do now. ‘O come, all ye faithful’ has a history of apparently 150 years and possibly even dates back to the 1700’s, so many generations have sung this carol previous to the one we currently find ourselves in.
