We are all born with gifts. We are meant to use and share them; that is why these feelings and skills come naturally to us. For some the talent may be obvious – music, maths, art. For others it is less so – a naturally caring attitude, being good with animals, a feeling to nurture children, a need to tell another’s story.
Although seen in many varying degrees; the gifts of each individual are important. We all cannot climb Everest, invent penicillin or overturn large scale discrimination. We each have a role to play in the world and a clue to that role is often found in what we find comes naturally to us in the form of talent and what we enjoy doing. Each one of us by simply honouring the gifts, natural skills and loves which we are born with helps the world.
You do not need to save the world all by yourself to make your gifts count.
Live your gifts….that is why you have them

Always good to be reminded of this. Thank you!
Very true –
I think many people shrink back from honoring their giftedness too – thinking someone else may to it better, or perhaps bigger. However, we ALL have something very special and unique to offer even if it’s humble in our opinion, it could make a world of difference to someone else if they would only dare to share it!
We all must ‘dare to share’ our giftedness Heidi. Reminds me of the quote
Every individual has a place to fill in the world and is important in some respect whether he chooses to be so or not ~ Nathaniel Hawthorne
It is easy for me to think that I dont have a gift because I dont paint or sing or excel academically. But my gifts are smaller but no less important or useful. I am a fantastic mother and I see my gift as creating and nurturing little human beings to be all they can be. Maybe one of my children will show a more noticable gift like singing etc.
Whatever my children’s gifts are they are all gifts to me. I really like your posts
Oh, I like the comment above about being a fantastic mother. I don’t have big impressive gifts but I have so many smaller, useful ones.
“Live your gifts” is a beautiful statement. If you have the gifts and don’t put them to use, it is such a waste.
Hey Jenn…it sure is a waste not to use our gifts. Thanks for calling by
